Pool building is the construction of an inground swimming pool from excavation through finishing, most commonly using a gunite or shotcrete shell. It involves engineering, steel reinforcement, plumbing, a concrete structure, and an interior finish, creating a permanent, custom-shaped pool that fits the yard and withstands soil movement and years of use.
Most San Diego inground pools are gunite or shotcrete (concrete sprayed over a steel rebar cage), which forms a strong, custom-shaped shell that handles the region’s soil and seismic activity well. The interior gets a plaster, quartz-aggregate, or pebble finish such as Pebble Tec, chosen for durability and look. Waterline tile and coping (the cap around the edge) come in natural stone, porcelain, or precast concrete. Decking uses concrete, pavers, or stone. We plumb the returns, skimmers, and main drain in schedule-40 PVC and add features like spas, tanning ledges, and water spillways.

Interior finish and startup
Plaster or pebble finish is applied, the pool is filled, and we balance the water chemistry, brushing and monitoring through the initial cure before handover.
